Vanuatu’s USP Emalus Campus enrolment up by 91%

This is an increase of 91 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

The number includes students studying in other four USP centres in the Provinces (Torba, Sanma, Malampa and Tafea).

Emalus Campus Acting Director, Ruben Bakeo Markward announced the increase in his address during the Student Orientation Day.

“On behalf of the USP and especially Emalus Campus I say welcome and congratulations to our new students on your acceptance to study at USP. We thank you for choosing USP. We are excited to welcome you into the Emalus learning community in 2021.”

USP Emalus campus in Vanuatu to host upcoming 7s tournament

The Vanuatu Association of Sports and Olympic Committee is encouraging local clubs to sign their teams up for the competition.

All the clubs that are willing to participate in the one-day tournament, are expected to be at VASANOC House, on Thursday from 12-1pm.

Interested teams are being urged to send one rep to the meeting house where all the information regarding the tournament will be given out by the organizing committee.

The local rugby 7s tournament will be held on 24 July.

     

USP Emalus Campus offers MBA programme in trimester

The programme begins this week. The first course will be completed in 5 weeks.

Some 35 successful students who received their offer letters to do the MBA programme attended the three-hour orientation program Monday September 10, 2018 in the Emalus Campus Conference Room.

An MBA alumni graduate, Peter Tari, the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu, was invited to share his experiences as a student who undertook the program some years back. 

Emalus Campus to welcome the In-country Science Programme

The event will mark a partnership between the University and the Government of Vanuatu through the Ministry of Education and Training in delivering full science programmes to students at Emalus Campus from 9 July.

VISP will provide students at Emalus Campus the opportunity to take science programmes that in the past would only be offered at Laucala Campus in Fiji. Some students even travel to Universities beyond our region to study science.

155 graduate from USP Emalus campus

The awards were conferred by Honourable Henry Puna, USP Chancellor and Prime Minister of Cook Islands.

Of the total number of graduates, fifty-one percent (51%) were females. The graduates were from six (6) Pacific Island countries, namely Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

In his statement during the event, Professor Armstrong warmly welcomed all dignitaries and guests present at the Vanuatu Convention Centre. 

Successful orientation for Emalus campus students

The three-day orientation programme was held from 3-5 February 2016.

Present to meet the new students were staff of the Emalus campus including the Emalus Group Manager Mr Ruben Markward, Dr Howard van Trease, lecturers, College of Foundation Studies (CFS) coordinator and teaching assistants, Student Learning Support (SLS) specialists, Distance and Flexible Learning (DFL) coordinator, other administration staff and student representatives.
