Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford pays tribute to 'dear friend'

The pair appeared together in Steven Spielberg's 1989 sequel Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with Sir Sean playing Ford's father Henry Jones.

"He was my father... not in life... but in Indy III," said Harrison in an interview with Variety.

"God we had fun - if he's in heaven, I hope they have golf courses. Rest in peace, dear friend," he added.

Ford recalled the "pleasure" of taking Sir Sean "for a ride in the sidecar of a Russian motorcycle, bouncing along a bumpy, twisty mountain trail and getting to watch him squirm".

Harrison Ford investigated over LA runway incident

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said he was piloting a small plane that wrongly crossed a runway where another aircraft was landing.

The planes were within about 3,600ft (1,100m) of each other at Los Angeles' Hawthorne airport last Friday. There was no danger of a crash, the FAA said.

Ford, 77, acknowledged his mistake and apologised, his representative said.

The representative said in a statement that the star of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films had "misheard" an instruction from air traffic control.

Harrison Ford 'in near-miss' at US airport

They say Ford, aged 74, was instructed to land on a runway at John Wayne airport in Orange Country on Monday.

But instead he mistakenly landed on a parallel taxiway, passing over a waiting American Airlines plane with 110 passengers and crew on board.

That plane safely departed minutes later. Ford has not commented on the reported incident.

Just before the landing, the Indiana Jones star is quoted as asking air traffic controllers: "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?"
