Harry Kane

Harry Kane can break all records

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino backed Harry Kane to break more records after he scored twice in a comfortable home victory over Everton to become Spurs' all-time Premier League goalscorer.

Kane twice netted from close range - converting passes from Son Heung-min and Eric Dier - to take his Premier League tally to 98, one more than Teddy Sheringham scored for the club.

The excellent Son opened the scoring at Wembley by finishing off Serge Aurier's cross, and the South Korea international later hit a post as the hosts dominated.

Kane on course for EPL goal scoring record

Kane equalled Alan Shearer's Premier League mark of 36 goals in a calendar year, set in 1995, with another hat-trick at the weekend in his side's 3-nil win at Burnley.

Kane's fifth hat-trick of the year lifted him to 93 Premier League goals in total, but he has some way to go to match Shearer's all-time best of 260.

"Of course you dream about it, but I'd be silly to look that far ahead I think," Kane said. "I've still got a long way to go. A lot can happen in football.

Kane, Winks out of England squad

West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore has been called up by Gareth Southgate for the games at Wembley on November 10 and 14.

It was confirmed on Sunday Alli would play no part in the matches due to the hamstring injury that ruled him out of Spurs' 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

And Alli has been joined on the sidelines by Kane and Winks as Southgate suffers a blow in his planning for next year's World Cup finals in Russia.

Kane pleased to perform for Bryant

Five-time NBA champion and all-time basketball great Kobe Bryant was treated to a spectacle as Spurs blitzed their way to a sixth win of the Premier League season.

The former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard is in London for the latest stop on his European tour, which has already seen him visit Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain.

And Kane, who scored twice to reclaim outright leadership in the Golden Boot race, wanted to maximise the opportunity to learn from Bryant.

Leicester City 1 Tottenham 6 Four-star Kane pulls clear in Golden Boot race

England international Kane moved to 26 in the top flight for this season – putting him two ahead of Romelu Lukaku in the Golden Boot standings – while Son took his tally to 21 goals in all competitions in the emphatic victory.

The hammering puts Spurs on 83 points for 2016-17, three more than Leicester managed when they were crowned champions last term.

Son and Kane combined to put Spurs ahead before the South Korea star made it 2-0 as half-time approached with a well-taken volley.

Kane breaks Tottenham record

Kane had struck in four consecutive north London derbies going into the meeting, with Tottenham aiming to keep up the pressure on league leaders Chelsea.

Dele Alli gave Spurs the lead after 55 minutes and when Gabriel brought down Kane in the box two minutes later, the England international had the ideal opportunity to extend his hot streak against Arsenal.

Kane made no mistake from the penalty spot, sweeping a sweet shot into Petr Cech's bottom-right corner with the goalkeeper left unmoved, to score his 21st Premier League goal of the season.
