American magazine The Ring claims Parker has agreed to fight American Bryant Jennings in Atlantic City on 19 August.

However, David Higgins, head of Parker's promoters Duco, said the bout hasn't been confirmed. He said they were in negotiations with the Jennings camp, but said they had other options on the table including a fight with Russian Alexander Ustinov. Higgins said no deal will be made until the Parker camp are satisfied with the terms.

Parker relinquished his WBO world title belt by unanimous points decision to undefeated Englishman Anthony Joshua in Cardiff early last month, the first loss of his 25-fight professional career.

After a holiday in Samoa, the 26-year-old is back in Auckland "running every day" and has begun plotting his next move with promoter David Higgins.

The New Zealand based former World Heavyweight title holder first became a Digicel brand ambassador in 2016 and today he has renewed his deal.

Parker, during the signing said he was excited to extend the partnership with Digicel and he’s looking forward to another year of boxing.

The British heavyweight star added the WBO belt to his IBF and WBA 'super' titles as he produced a disciplined display against the rugged Parker to earn a wide unanimous decision with scores of 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 at the Principality Stadium.

Joshua's perfect run of 20 knockouts was ended by Parker, who retained his reputation for toughness, but AJ moved one belt away from becoming the undisputed champion.

Parker pledged to outwork, outbox and outlast Joshua, no doubt garnering encouragement from his opponent's workmanlike showing against Carlos Takam last time out, but it was the 28-year-old Briton who decisively banked rounds down the closing stretch, with his opponent never able to crack the puzzle presented to him by a spearing left jab.

Introduced to the stage by a combined Samoan and Maori cultural performance, Parker tipped the scales at 107.3kg in front of a crowd of around 4000 fight fans.

The weight represented a loss of nearly 5kg from his last title defence against Englishman Hughie Fury in September.

Joshua's weight had been a significant talking point in the build-up and, as expected, he came in much lighter than he had been for his most recent fight.
