Ed Sheeran reveals Bieber's Love Yourself was meant for his new album, Divide

The track became one of Justin Bieber's biggest hits, spending six weeks at number one in the UK.

"That was a song I had written for '÷'. It just wouldn't have made it," Sheeran said in an American radio interview on Monday.

He said Justin's input had made the Grammy-nominated song "what it is".

Bieber is back with a 'Cold' new track

The popstar is featured on the song "Cold Water" by the EDM group Major Lazer.

It dropped Thursday and by Friday morning, it was the top selling song on iTunes with more than one million views on YouTube.

"Cold Water" is Bieber's latest collaboration with Major Lazer. They also worked together on his 2015 hit "Where are Ü Now."

After unveiling a lyric video for new single 'What Do You Mean?' earlier in the day, the Canadian popstar shared a video snippet in which he romps around in bed with a beauty.

The full 'What Do You Mean?' clip will have its world premiere on Vevo on Sunday (August 30) at 11pm ET, directly following the MTV Video Music Awards.

Bieber tried to squeeze even more headlines out of the day by also confirming that his fourth studio album will be released November 13.
