Diego Maradona care deficient and reckless, medical report says

Prosecutors in Argentina asked the panel to investigate Maradona's medical team after the footballer's death in November last year.

Maradona died of a heart attack at his Buenos Aires home, aged 60.

He had successful surgery on a brain blood clot earlier in November and was to be treated for alcohol dependency.

One of the greatest football players of all time, Maradona had a troubled personal life marked by cocaine and alcohol addiction.

All Blacks pay tribute to late football legend Diego Maradona against Argentina

New Zealand captain Sam Cane laid down an All Blacks jersey with ‘10 Maradona’ – his regular playing number – imprinted on the back of it in front of the Pumas players prior to kick-off in Newcastle.

Maradona, one of the greatest footballers in the history of the game and Argentina's most revered sportsperson, died earlier this week.

There was a small hiccup in the pre-game ceremonies in the ‘Welcome to Country’ when Aboriginal elder Uncle Bill Smith referred to the All Blacks’ opposition as The Netherlands during the ritual.

Maradona needs treatment after win

The Argentine great, 57, threatened to steal the show during the Group D clash in St Petersburg, where an 86th-minute goal from Marcos Rojo sent Jorge Sampaoli's men into the knockout stage.

But Maradona was pictured receiving treatment from paramedics at the stadium after the game, having earlier needed assistance on the way from his seat.

The 1986 World Cup winner went through a rollercoaster of emotions during the encounter, beginning with dancing with a Nigeria fan pre-game.

After exuberantly celebrating Lionel Messi's classy opener, Maradona was seen sleeping.

Maradona on Napoli's Insigne

It is a jersey that Napoli retired in 2000 in honour of Maradona, who netted 115 goals for the Serie A side during a spell that encompassed his famous exploits in Argentina's 1986 World Cup triumph.

Insigne is also a revered figure at the Stadio San Paolo and Maradona joked that the Italian would be allowed to wear the shirt number he once donned provided the 26-year-old met one condition.
