Shaggy and Sting help the Queen celebrate 92nd birthday

Kylie Minogue, Craig David, Sting and Shaggy were among the artists who performed at the event.

Sir Tom Jones opened the event with a performance supported by a group playing the dhol - an Indian drum.

Prince Charles brought the night to a close by going on stage and leading the crowd in a cheer of "hip hip hurray" for his mother's birthday.

And Prince Harry spoke in his new role as president of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, introducing singer and The Voice contestant Donel Mangena.

Paris attacks: Bataclan reopens with Sting concert

The British singer told the audience, including survivors, that they had to honour the dead and celebrate life.

His concert is on the eve of the first anniversary of the co-ordinated attacks that left 130 people dead across Paris, culminating with the Bataclan massacre.

Sting will donate the proceeds from the show to two survivors' charities.

"We will not forget them," Sting said speaking in French, before starting his hour-long set shortly after 21:00 (20:00 GMT).
