USA and France draw nil in first Group C Match

Adding dismay to both teams was the hot temperature of Port Moresby testing the fitness level of both teams in the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup staged in Papua New Guinea.

USA made the first attempt to score a goal but France goal keeper Mylene Chavas made a crucial move to deny USA talented striker and captain, Mallory Pugh who had only the keeper to beat 15 metres out of the goal mark.

The only chance for the France ladies came at the second half for a free penalty kick outside the 15 meter box.

Syria ceasefire: Kerry blasts Lavrov; UN ready to resume aid convoys; fighting intensifies

US ready to 'hand over' the internet's naming system

The Domain Naming System, DNS, is one of the internet’s most important components.

It pairs the easy-to-remember web addresses - like bbc.com - with their relevant servers. Without DNS, you’d only be able to access websites by typing in its IP address, a series of numbers such as "194.66.82.10".

More by circumstance than intention, the US has always had ultimate say over how the DNS is controlled - but not for much longer.

It will give up its power fully to Icann - the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers - a non-profit organisation.

Turkey coup attempt: US warns Turkey against 'insinuations' of involvement

US Secretary of State John Kerry was speaking after Turkey's labour minister suggested the US was behind the coup.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the US to extradite US-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Mr Erdogan has accused him of being behind the plot, which Mr Gulen denies.

Mr Gulen told reporters from his home in Pennsylvania that he had been away from Turkey for more than 15 years and "I don't even know who my followers [in the country] are".

South Africa trash USA 64-0

The winger scored three times in 21 second-half minutes to draw level with Lomu's mark of 15 World Cup tries.

The Springboks ran in eight second-half tries in all to earn a bonus-point win at the Olympic Stadium.

South Africa top Pool B and will now play the loser of Saturday's Pool A decider between Australia and Wales.

A tale of two halves

A mixture of South Africa's ill-discipline and poor finishing kept the score down in the first half, while USA only made it into the Boks' 22 in the last minute of the half, despite enjoying plenty of possession.
