French President to make historic visit to Vanuatu, PNG

AFP reports Macron's trip will start in New Caledonia, before he travels to Vanuatu and Port Moresby.

A French official told the news agency the trip is "historic" because no French president had ever visited non-French islands in the region.

Macron will use those two stops to outline his Indo-Pacific strategy, aimed at "recommitting" France to the region, the official said.

UN Secretary General to visit Vanuatu

This visit will take him to New Zealand, Fiji, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

In each country, Mr Guterres will meet government leaders, civil society representatives and youth groups to hear from those already impacted by climate change and who are also successfully engaging in meaningful climate action.

In Fiji, the Secretary-General will be at the Pacific Island Forum, where he will meet with senior governments officials from each Member State in attendance, as well as with members of civil society.

US Undersecretary of the Navy visit reaffirms commitment to Vanuatu

During his visit, Modly will meet with high-level Vanuatu government officials and military personnel from the Vanuatu Police Force to reaffirm U.S. commitment to the defense and security of Vanuatu within the Indo-Pacific region.

This visit is part of a longer trip throughout the region where Modly also visited Fiji, Kiribati, and Papua New Guinea before concluding his tour in Pt. Vila.

The Prince of Wales to visit Vanuatu during his Commonwealth tour in April

Prince Charles is visiting Australia for the Commonwealth Games alongside his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.

However, he will travel alone to Vanuatu after the Duchess leaves for a one-day visit.

Afterwards, he will return to Australia to visit Cairns in Queensland and Gove & Darwin in the Northern Territory.

In Vanuatu, The Queen’s son will learn more about the reconstruction efforts which have taken place following the devastating impact of Cyclone Pam.

USS Rushmore Visits Vanuatu

During the visit, the crew provided tours of the ship, allowing visitors the opportunity to see and experience life aboard a U.S. Navy warship.

John Ryan. “This event is a unique opportunity for the crew to demonstrate the pride and professionalism of the U.S. Navy and reciprocate the hospitality we receive when we make foreign port calls.”
