RNZI reports Vanuatu has experienced political instability in recent years with 10 changes of prime minister in less than eight years, mostly as a result of votes of no confidence.

The Council of Ministers is meeting this week to consider the political and constitutional amendment bill which may restrict the ease with which no-confidence votes can be used.

The renovation is being built with a grant from China.

Medical equipment donated from Nelson to help diabetes amputees in Vanuatu

In order to get some of the equipment to those in need, Nelson woman Belinda Roselli​ is trying to raise $14,000 to ship a 40-foot container from Nelson to Port Vila in Vanuatu.

Roselli's business, Lav Kokonas, imports and sells coconut oil and other products from Vanuatu and it was through her work she became aware of the rising problem of diabetes among the indigenous people of Vanuatu.

MSG differences sorted, PNG to host MSG Leaders meeting

During their meeting, Prime Minister Sogavare expressed appreciation on behalf of the government and people of Solomon Islands to the Government and people of Vanuatu for backing Solomon Islands bid to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

He said with the support of Vanuatu, the other two MSG Member countries, Partners to the Nauru Agreement (PNA) from the Micronesian region and a few Polynesian countries, Solomon Islands successfully secured the hosting right for the regional games in 2023.
