The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries, and Biosecurity (MALFFB) celebrated the appointment of five of its Project Management Unit (PMU) staff.
In handing over their letters of appointment, Director General of MALFFB, Moses Amos described these five staff as hardworking, consistent and committed employees who never complained or walked out of their responsibilities throughout the three years they had been employed on contract basis.
“It has not been easy for you staff, and I know there are times when I would come around and feel guilty seeing you staff not getting paid on time because you have families and commitments, but your perseverance, dedication, and loyalty surely pays off with your letters of appointment today,” said Amos.
The PMU is the project arm of the Ministry of Agriculture, which was established in 2016 as an initiative by the former Director General of MALLFFB, Howard Aru and the current Minister of Agriculture, Matai Seremiah.
It was established within the MALFFB to work with the different departments on the implementation of recovery activities.
The five staff have been working on contract basis since the establishment of this unit and are a dedicated team who had been addressing recovery programme delivery, ensuring that all projects are implemented through the departments and implementing partners are delivered on time, to specification and within the budget available.
