Twelve new VRCS First Aid Instructors

Vanuatu Red Cross with the support of their New Zealand counterpart has conducted a training of trainers for instructors on First Aid at Melemat village.

The participants came from different Red Cross branches around Vanuatu.

The training is especially to build up capacity of Vanuatu Red Cross in First Aid training programs and also build up the branches in First Aid activities.

A total of 12 participants attended the workshop.

Mrs Kate from New Zealand Red Cross, who is the trainer stated at the closing of the workshop that all participants have passed their practical and writing test and all are certified as Vanuatu Red Cross First Aid instructor.

- Mrs. Suzanna Gislapno (Shefa Province, Port Vila)
- Mrs. Jocelyne Samuel (Shefa Province, Melemat)
- Mr. Presly Tasongi (Malampa province, Malekula Island)
- Mr. Keitson Ture (Penama Province, Ambae Island)
- Mrs. Linda Norman (Sanma Province, Santo Island)
- Mr. Tommy Pollen (Torba Province, Banks Island)

The new instructors are now able to help and assist people in need in good times by providing First Aid training and also in times of emergency to assist the most vulnerable in their provinces, islands and communities.
