6.2 earthquake near Vanuatu

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck near the Vanuatu island of Tanna at a depth of 10 kilometres.

The US Geological Survey says the quake struck at 10-past-one this afternoon 135 kilometres east-southeast of the capital, Port Vila.

No tsunami warning has been issued and there are no initial reports of damage.
