Movie Screening to mark 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

The Port Vila community is joining people around the world in the global campaign of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

This campaign is designed to raise awareness and promote justice on violence against women, human rights, and disabilities.

Nambawan Café is supporting the campaign by hosting a special premier movie showing “Mercy's Blessings”, on Friday December 9 at 6:30 pm.

This film which has won 12 international awards and has never before been shown in the South Pacific.

It offers a beautiful and thought provoking look at the theme of the campaign: From Peace in the Home, Peace in the World: Making Education Safe for All.

The story of Mercy's Blessings takes place in rural Africa, where a teenage boy makes a selfless sacrifice to keep his younger sister in school, and as a result she also avoids becoming a child bride.
