The President Baldwin Lonsdale had earlier threatened to dissolve Parliament if it did not sit today.
The acting speaker, Samson Samsen, issued a letter on Saturday demanding all MPs hold a session today, in order to pass the budget.
The opposition MPs have told the Prime Minister, Sato Kilman, they will work with him to pass the budget.
They had earlier proposed a government of national unity but the Prime Minister, rejected the proposal as the opposition members had demanded all the ministerial posts.
The parliament has been at an impasse since the MPs' convictions last month, with the opposition not having the numbers to force a motion of no confidence.
