The matter will now be called in court on Tuesday, 22 December.

The court heard yesterday that the magistrate was handed a thick bundle of PI papers by prosecution in a short time that he has not read through the contents and therefore is postponing the preliminary hearing to next Tuesday.

The former MPs are among 15 who are serving prison sentences after they were convicted of bribery in October.

The conspiracy charges were filed after the then-speaker of parliament, Marcellino Pipite, pardoned himself and ten other MPs while he was acting president.
