Digicel supports Vanuatu on the occasion of a worldwide ITU event

Digicel Vanuatu CEO, Ben Kealy, recently signed an agreement with the Government of Vanuatu, announcing Digicel’s sponsorship of activities in conjunction with the 2019 Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-19).

The event has been organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the Government of Vanuatu.

GSR is a global event, which will bring together heads of national telecom/ICT regulatory authorities from around the world to share their views and experiences on the most pressing regulatory issues they have identified.

The event will feature dynamic regulatory dialogues on connecting the next 3.7 billion people; digital infrastructure policies and regulation; investment, funding and new business models for connectivity; building confidence in a data-driven digital economy; the need for spectrum; emergency telecommunications, and many more discussions between ITU members to share their views on major issues facing the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.

Digicel founder and Chairman, Mr Denis O’Brien, will also be attending this event along with three global entity regulators who have confirmed their attendance, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from the United States, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) a UK communications regulator and Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

GSR-19 will be hosted in Vanuatu’s beautiful capital, Port Vila at the Warwick Le Lagon Resort from 9 to 12 July 2019. Enjoy the event and hospitality of Vanuatu.
