Global Green Growth Institute releases guide to Green Entrepreneurship in Vanuatu

The Global Green Growth Institute has launched a guide to Green Entrepreneurship in Vanuatu.

The guide is designed to support local entrepreneurs in developing and launching green businesses as well as helping to achieve Vanuatu’s climate change and environmental goals.

The Guide to Green Entrepreneurship in Vanuatu is based on the content that was included in GGGI’s “Jumpstart Your Green Business” workshop, held in Port Vila last September.

It focuses on helping people create new businesses that address environmental or social issues as a core part of their business model.

By publishing this content online, GGGI hopes to broaden the impact of this programme beyond the participants in the workshop to support existing and potential entrepreneurs countrywide.

The guide is aimed at supporting new or early stage entrepreneurs in clarifying their business concepts and giving them the tools they need to get their new company off the ground.

It includes an overview of green entrepreneurship, a discussion of the key sustainability issues in Vanuatu and how they apply to businesses.

There are also steps to developing a basic business model, a listing of the specific steps to register and start a company in Vanuatu, and links to additional resources specific to Vanuatu.

The guide also contains interactive exercises, links to relevant videos and online resources, and examples of existing green businesses in Vanuatu and across the Pacific, as well as practical tips from successful green business owners.
