Port Vila Scholarship Scheme opens

Vanuatu’s Graon mo Jastis party (GJP) says applications for Semester 1 2019 are open under the Port Vila Scholarship Scheme.

The scholarship is open to all Ni-Vanuatu students, who are residents of Port Vila and are enrolled in Foundation courses at USP Emalus Campus in the first semester.

The scholarships will only cover tuition fees for 1 Foundation course per student per semester.

“Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance; on Secondary School results or students beginning Foundation-level studies and on GPA for continuing Foundation-level students.”

Additional criteria, to be applied at the discretion of the Selection Committee, are gender and financial circumstances of the applicant.

GJP announced that the closing date for applications is Friday, 1 February 2019 and successful applicants will be announced on Friday, 15 February 2019.

The scholarships will be awarded from the “Port Vila Scholarship Scheme”, which has been established with funding provided by Ralph Regenvanu, Member of Parliament for Port Vila.

Regenvanu is also the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
