The Vanuatu chocolate company Aelan has won two gold medals at the International Chocolate Salon competition in the United States.
Aelan's Dark Chocolate Malekula and Malo Dark Fine Chocolate took out the top spots in their categories.
Aelan Chocolate Makers is owned by the local not-for-profit organisation ACTIV.
ACTIV said it aimed to empower disadvantaged communities in Vanuatu through fair trade.
The Vanuatu Daily Post newspaper reported that Aelan also won five silver medals and one bronze.
