The public has been urged to refrain from gambling as it is against the law says Vanuatu Police Force.
The Force’s Crime Prevention Unit visited local communities to create awareness.
Vanuatu Police said, “Gambling is an illegal activity. A lot of women, men and youth are practising gambling-Bingo and Seven Lock.”
“Gambling can lead to social problems like domestic violence, assault, abusive words, damage to property and theft.”
Police are mandated under law to take action on anyone caught gambling.
