Games Village hailed as best in the Pacific

The Pacific Games Village located in the University of Papua New Guinea has been hailed as the best in the Pacific Games.

Pacific Games Council (PGC) president Vidhya Lakhan told the local and international media today that the quality and standard of the Games Village is very good.

“The rooms are very comforting and the dining hall is exceptionally excellent.

“All the Games venues including the village have far exceeded our expectations.’’

He said that despite the small issues like laundry and others, they are confident that the athletes will have a home away from home environment.

The village will host 4000 athletes and officials from 24 countries and the dining hall will serve 10, 000 meals a day.

The council is also grateful that the village was open a week before the opening ceremony to allow athletes and officials to settle in well.
