Just Play hits Ambae and Emae Island

Just Play Programme in Vanuatu kicked off its festival programme on the island of Ambae and Emae.

Just Play Vanuatu Project manager, Rorona Kalsakau said hundreds of kids turned up last weekend and enjoyed a special day of kids football and the main topic of the two festivals is Child Protection.

She thanked the JP coordinator of Penama Football Association, Father Albert Toalak for bringing the kids together.

During the festival the kids played basic football before exchanging key messages about how to make life safe in a community during their daily activities.

Also last week another Just Play festival hit the island of Emae and thank you to Just Play coordinator, Mr. Nelson James.

“Both Father Albert Toalak and Nelson James have done a marvelous job to make sure the kids have a nice day playing football and learn something special to help them live a good life.” said Kalsakau.

“Main Just play festival topic on the island of Makira is Health is important and the focus is on drinking clean water and water is the best drink.”

“I would like to thank Emae health centre for their support to help us spread the good news of sweet drink policy of Vanuatu Government.” she said.

“A special thank you Emae health center doctor, Mr. Donald for his great support.”

“A special thank you to Vanuatu Football Federation and Oceania Football Confederation, Australia Aid, UNICEF, Football Federation Australia and UEFA.” 

“I also thank my faithful JP coordinators and volunteers in the islands who always willing to help to carry out the program.” Concluded Rorona Kalsakau, Just Play Vanuatu Project Manager.

Just Play will continue to run different festival for kids in the weeks to come in different areas in Vanuatu with different healthy topics.
