Cricket Without Borders team promotes sport in Vanuatu

The visiting Cricket Without Borders team from Australia has been promoting cricket in various schools in Port Vila.

The team also played a friendly match against the Vanuatu national women’s cricket team.

During the weeklong tour, the visitors held training sessions and participated in school competitions.

“It’s not all about cricket, the Cricket Without Borders delegation also visited schools, children with disabilities and communities and provided much needed sporting equipment,” a statement said.

The Australian High Commission in Port Vila stated that, Australia has been supporting sports for development in Vanuatu for a number of years through the provision of Australian volunteers and financial support with the Pacific Sports Partnerships programme.

Through the recently launched strategy ‘Sports Diplomacy 2030’, Australia will continue to build linkages with its neighbours in the region.
