Apple's security chief charged with bribery

Thomas Moyer is accused of offering bribes in the form of iPads worth $70,000 in order to obtain concealed firearms licenses.

BBC reports the charges were brought by a California grand jury on Monday. Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Two police officers from Santa Clara County, California, have also been charged.

County Undersheriff Rick Sung and Sheriff's Captain James Jenson are accused of requesting bribes for concealed firearms licenses.

Mr Moyer is accused of offering bribes to get them.

Fiji education minister charged with bribery

Mahendra Reddy is charged with one count each of bribery and using undue influence.

The charges were brought by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

In a statement, it alleged Dr Reddy offered a steady water source to a high school in exchange for a school manager's vote.

It said he interfered with the free exercise or performance of the manager, Waisea Lelobo's political rights.

Dr Reddy has pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.

His conditions included paying $500 bond and having to report to a police station once a week.
