Joe Greenwood

 ‌Under pressure from his mother back in England to start wearing headgear after he was knocked out courtesy of some friendly fire from Ryan James against Souths in Round 15 – "She's on the other side of the world so she can't tell me what to do for now" – it was something of a surprise that Greenwood was able to back up against Wests Tigers last weekend.

He missed two games earlier in the season due to repeated head knocks but doesn't believe he is any more susceptible than other players, shrugging them off as being in "the wrong place at the wrong time".

As Titans five-eighth Kane Elgey drifted left late in the final minute of the first half against the Cowboys in Townsville last Saturday night, back-rower Joe Greenwood speared back on an angle.

Elgey hit the towering Englishman with a short ball 12 metres from the Cowboys try-line, a wonderful tackle down low by Lachlan Coote all that stopped Greenwood from crossing for his third try of the season.

By running on for the second 40 minutes he and fellow Titans recruit Dan Sarginson created Telstra Premiership history by becoming the first English pair to debut for the same club in the same game in the NRL era, but he has already set his sights on playing a more significant role in the coming weeks.

Having signed for the 2018-19 seasons Greenwood was granted an immediate release by St Helens who acquired Zeb Taia in a player swap, the timing of Greenwood's arrival now dependent on the processing of his visa application.
