Pacific Agriculture, Forestry Ministers endorse International Year of Plant Health 2020 strategy

The regional meeting, a joint effort of the Pacific Community (SPC), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and hosted by the Government of Samoa, saw participation from Ministers from Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Island, Tokelau, Tonga and Vanuatu, and Heads of Delegation from American Samoa, Australia, Guam, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Palau, Tuvalu, and Wallis and Futuna.

Vanuatu gears up for Pacific Week of Agriculture

The week-long event is aimed at becoming Pacific's premiere agriculture event on the Pacific calendar and bringing together people from different agriculture sectors to discuss the future of agriculture.

PWA Media and Communications Team Leader, Kiery Manassah said the event will attract more than 2000 people from across the region and internationally.

“All 26 members of Pacific Community (SPC) which includes four metropolitans- Australia, New Zealand, France and US will be at the meeting and represented by the respective Agriculture Ministers and Officials,” he said.
