The team also visited some of the key farmers whom Riu has been working with that have made significant commitment to cultivated specific crops to improve their livelihood, food security and income.

The island of Malo is well-known of its high production of copra, cocoa, yams and spices in the Northern part of Vanuatu.

Principal Policy and Planning Officer, Mark Vurobaravu, says the business plan must align with the different goals of the government.

Effectively the business plan will put into operation the policy goals of the agriculture sector with the National Sustainable Development Plan.

 “We are bringing together our senior officials for a one-week programme to put together our work programme and utilize our resources to draw up a plan for implementation next year.
