Israeli Government informed about the Pacific Mini Games

The Pacific Adviser to the Israeli government, Yaron Dadon, has paid a courtesy visit to the Van2017 Head office in Port Vila, to meet staff members and get information about the 2017 Pacific Mini Games

Also during Mr Dadon’s visit to Vanuatu, he is to meet the Vanuatu Government’s Acting Prime Minister, Joe Natuman.

Given that Mr Dadon has been a youth advocate for a long time, the Vanuatu Ministry of Youth and Sport’s Acting Director, Paul Nalau, seized the opportunity to show him some of what the Ministry is doing for young people in Vanuatu.

Mr Nalau accompanied Mr Dadon’s delegation to the Van2017 Head office on Friday, to meet all the 55 staffs, where managers of the various sections were given the opportunity to present a brief report on their respective functional areas such as Sport, Transport, Security, Medical, Pacific Games Association, Marketing, Games Venues and Services, Accreditation, Villages, Volunteers, Ceremonies, Events and Government Services.

With 120 days to go until the Games begin, working against the clock is very challenging but Vanuatu is confident that the Games will be ready in time.

Mr Dadon congratulated Van2017 Team for the efforts made, as well as all the planning, involving communities, students and people of Vanuatu.

“It is already amazing and overwhelming to see the different groups that are involved in different aspects so you are already doing well. It looks great! It looks like the heart of an emergency room in the most important hospital, just now operating,” he said.

The Representative of Israeli Government for the Pacific Region is based at the Israeli Embassy in Canberra, Australia.

Mr Dadon is spending three days in the country and, during his stay, he paid a visit to the Ministry of Youth and Sport, VASANOC, and a site visit to the Korman complex.

Mr Dadon and his delegation will be leaving the country on Sunday and it is planned that this visit is preparatory to a planned visit of the Israeli Ambassador, based in Australia, to Vanuatu.
