Save the Children Vanuatu helps DARD to improve livelihoods on Ambae

The Save the Children organisation in Penama and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) are helping families address food security.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring that children have a balanced diet and enough food.

Families on Ambae have had their lives disrupted by the active volcano on the island.

Save the Children Vanuatu and DARD have helped the residents by distributing vegetable seeds to households.

Families will be able to harvest vegetables in two-months and improve their livelihoods.

Root crops like cassava and taro will be harvested early next year.
