Tupuji qualifies for NCD final after penalty shootout win over Tafea

Tupuji Imere Football Club (TIFC) beat Tafea FC on penalties on Monday afternoon in a thrilling Semi-Final clash at Port Vila Stadium in Vanuatu.

After playing an exciting nil-all draw in 90 minutes, the wins of TIFC combined to break the deadlock in the first 5 minutes of extra time, thanks to a great goal from Raoul Coulon while Tafea Captain Robert Tasso equalized shortly thereafter (penalty goal) to send both teams to penalty kicks.

TIFC captain Rodney Serveux, who is in charge of goal-keeping duties, led by example a Man-of-the-Match (MOM) performance manage to save all three Tafea FC spot kicks to book TIFC final meeting with Amicale FC on 30 July 2016.

The Vanuatu club champion, Amicale FC also booked their ticket to the final after beating Spirit 08 FC 3-0.

Tupuji will now meet Amicale FC in the grand final of the first ever Kick NCD Out Football Competition on the 30 July 2016 at Port Vila Stadium to celebrate Vanuatu’s 36 years of independence.

This is Tupuji Imere’s third final in the Port Vila Football Association competition in 2016.
