Namatan Finale and TC Donna fundraiser on Wednesday 24 May

Vanuatu’s best filmmakers for the 2017 Namatan Short Film Festival will be announced on Wednesday 24 May 2017.

Commencing at 4:30pm, the Namatan Finale will be at the Saralana Park and there be something for everyone.

The best Namatan films will be screened free for the public and the 2017 winners will be announced.

The Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan group will be performing to raise money for people in TORBA Province affected by Tropical Cyclone Donna with a guest appearance by the Monkey Boys.

Food and kava will be available to put everyone in a festive mood.

Eight films made the finals of this year’s Namatan Short Film Festival.

Their films have already been screened in communities and schools around the country, including on Erromango, Malekula and Efate. Tropical Cyclone Donna disrupted plans for screenings on Tanna and Santo but Namatan will still be coming with new dates to be announced soon.

The Namatan Short Film Festival is an initiative of the Australian High Commission and is only possible with the support of its sponsors, Air Vanuatu and Digicel, and its partner, Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation.

Bring your families, friends and your mats to enjoy Vanuatu’s only short film festival.
