The director of CAAV, Joseph Niel, says this does not mean that Air Vanuatu complies with all the audit requirements of IOSA usually carried out by IATA, but the national airline’s maintenance program satisfies the requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vanuatu.

Air Vanuatu improves fleet

The airline's CEO Joseph Laloyer says Air Vanuatu is finalising its budget for 2016 and he is planning to purchase another Twin Otter aircraft to support the existing fleet.

Mr Laloyer says it is hoped the Twin Otter will be bought in time for the peak season.

He says Twin Otters have proven themselves to be the work horses of the Pacific and the search for an additional aircraft has already begun.

Air Vanuatu partners with Booking.com

Air Vanuatu passengers now have even more accommodation options at the click of a mouse thanks to the new partnership.

“For passengers, this means they can book their flights and compare prices for 64 hotels in Port Vila, 13 in Santo and seven in Tanna,” Air Vanuatu CEO Joseph Laloyer said.

Air Vanuatu Holidays continues to offer a wide range of accommodation options including in the outer islands on the airline’s website.

Air Lease Corporation places new Boeing 737-800 with Air Vanuatu

The aircraft is from ALC’s order book with Boeing and will deliver in January 2016.

“ALC is very pleased to announce this strategic new 737-800 lease placement with Air Vanuatu, a new customer for ALC in the South Pacific region. We look forward to a long-term relationship with the airline as they grow and modernize their fleet,” said Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Air Lease Corporation’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Air Vanuatu apologises for Service disruption

In its own Facebook account, Air Vanuatu had to come out and make the apology and said “unfortunately the service was delayed then cancelled due to engineering requirements”.

The FB post alleged that passengers had to wait until 10pm Thursday when they were told the flight was cancelled and passengers were then accommodated at hotels at Air Vanuatu expenses.
