They are part of a group of 20 scholarship students and family who were in Fiji to study.

The head of Tokelau's public service said they tried to repatriate them but most were now stranded in Fiji and New Zealand because of the Covid-19 lockdown.

Aukusitino Vitale said 14 of the students were currently in quarantine in Auckland.

Mr Vitale said a public servant who was on a training course in Fiji was also now isolated in Wellington.

He said five of those stranded in Fiji belong to one family.

Bainimarama says the fifth case is a 31-year-old who was in direct contact with the first patient during zumba classes.

She started developing symptoms while in self-quarantine.

Bainimarama added the average age of our 5 cases is just 27 and anyone at any age can be a carrier.

The Prime Minister also stated that the Nadi Airport will be officially closed from tomorrow. 

He went on to say that it is likely that more cases will be confirmed in the future and everyone should be more vigilant.      

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says early this morning, they confirmed the fourth case of COVID-19.

This patient is not related to our first three cases.

He is a 28 year old Fijian man who arrived back into the country on Saturday from Australia.

Bainimarama says when the man left that Fiji Airways flight FJ916 on March 21st, he was not showing any symptoms of COVID-19.

He says he was advised by health officials at the airport to go straight home and self-quarantine for 14 days.

The Prime Minister says it appears the man did everything right.

The Ministry of Health has been in contact with other passengers over their whereabouts and health since the flights on 16 and 17 of March, between San Francisco and Nadi, and Nadi and Auckland.

Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said Fiji Airways had published a list of the passengers required to contact the authorities immediately.

Mr Bainimarama called for the public to help track down the passengers.

"Our contained efforts depend on each of these individuals making contact with the Ministry of Health.

Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama said the third case was the one-year-old nephew of Fiji's first case, whose mother was the second.

Eleven members of the first patient's household have been isolated and the third case only became symptomatic while in isolation, Mr Bainimarama said.

The first patient is flight attendant and contact tracing teams are trying to contact everyone who potentially came into contact with the them on three Fiji Airways flights.

They are: FJ 411 from Nadi to Auckland, FJ 410 Auckland to Nadi and FJ 871 from San Francisco to Nadi.

Voreqe Bainimarama said the latest case was the mother of Fiji's first COVID-19 patient who remained in isolation in a stable condition.

The Prime Minister said after the first case was discovered on Thursday authorities moved to identifiy and isolate 11 members of the patient's household.

The group was transported to the isolation ward in Nadi Hospital where all those displaying symptoms were tested for COVID-19.

Mr Bainimarama said the initial patient's mother tested positive, making her the first locally-transmitted case in the country.

Fiji’s Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has tweeted that the individual had recently traveled abroad.

He says the patient has been immediately isolated where he remains under careful medical supervision.

Dr Waqainabete says his team is also trying to identify all those who were in contact with him.

He says there are no locally transmitted case in Fiji but they are vastly expanding containment measures.

The Health Minister says they are finalizing the details.

Ministry of Health official Sunil Chandra said a 15-month old girl, 37-year-old woman, three-year-old boy and his 26-year-old mother were in isolation after developing respiratory symptoms shortly after arriving in Fiji from the United States, Italy, Bali and Singapore.

Mr Chandra said the tests returned today and showed they were all in the clear.

There are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Fiji.

CNMI has second suspected case of coronavirus

 The founder and Director of newly opened Veilomani Spas Fiji, Tuinadilevu was grateful to launch his new business early this year.

 The locally owned Spa is fully operated with a total of six staff members.
