Melanesian Indigenous Land Defence Alliance

MILDA commemorates 10 years of solidarity in Vanuatu

The Melanesian Indigenous Land Defence Alliance (MILDA) was formed in 2009 by a collective of individuals, who shared a vision and commitment to working together to protect customary land systems and Melanesian values.

Founding member and Foreign Affairs Minister, Ralph Regenvanu said the alliance was purposely formed in response to the increasing threats to customary land systems posed by land reform agendas of international financial institutions and aid agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development, European Union, AusAID and others.
