Vanuatu prepares for first ever Province of Origin Games

The teams are  MALAMPA, PENAMA, SHEFA South, SHEFA North, TAFEA and Northern region.

 

SHEFA south includes players from Mele, Erakor, Ifira and Pango. SHEFA North players are from Emao, Nguna, Pele, North Efate, and the Islands of Tongoa.

 

The Northern Province has players from SANMA, TORBA, Solomon Islands and Brazil.

 

The team managers were officially handed their player’s final list at a press conference yesterday.

 

Port Vila Football players urged to get vaccinated

The issue was discussed during its club meeting this week.

In a statement, PVFA Vice President, Harry Atisson, said, “It is important to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s awareness to safeguard individuals as well as the family overall against the disease.”

“Everyone should stand up and protect our health against COVID-19,” he said.

“I am encouraging all players, football fans, to take good care of themselves against COVID-19 and other diseases.”

Tafea down Mauriki, still second on the ladder

Robert Tasso and Bong Kalo were heroes of the match after both players netted one goal each in the first half.

In the second half, goal scorer Robert Tasso was sent off the field by the referee as Tafea continued to play with 10 man until the final whistle.

The win puts Tafea still second on the ladder but now with 22 points, 6 away from leader Erakor Golden Star FC.

In the other two matches, Ifira Black Bird FC came from behind to draw with Shepherds United 2-2 and Tupuji Imere FC smashed Spirit 08 FC 6-1.
