Vanuatu Netball partners with Lakatoro School

The equipment was made possible through a partnership between the national netball body and the school.

The partnership was signed by the School Principal, John Kampai and Vanuatu Netball representative Taravaki and witnessed by the Head of Sports Department, Richard Malsale.

NetGo Vanuatu has been conducting a workshop on skills of the sport in the school to teachers.

     

Vanuatu Netball selects players in preparation for 2023 Pacific Games

The team has selected players from Port Vila, Santo, Malekula and Tanna.

VNA said ,“16 players have been selected from Port Vila, around nine to 10 players from Santo, five players from Malekula and one player from Tanna.”

“Head Coach Gretal Saul will be assisted by Sisilia Roqara as the Assistant Coach to the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.”

The netball team will travel with 12 players and three officials to the games, which will be held from 19 November to 2 December in Honiara.

     

Local Vanuatu Netball umpires progress in umpire training

 The games have been scheduled from their respective Members Associations Port Vila and SHEFA Netball.

Training Coordinator, Virginia Taravaki said through group discussions, creative activities and actively participating, the 17 new/refreshing umpires understood the qualities of what makes a confident umpire.

“They understood the techniques that place an umpire in the right place, feeling comfortable with each of the skills in the workshop and having exposure to at least two healthy lifestyle messages.”

Vanuatu Netball workshop focuses on development of sport

The workshop was organised by the Oceania Netball Coach Foundation and was held at the Vanuatu Netball Centre.

The participants represented Onesua Presbyterian College, Pikinini Playtime, and a local netball club.

The lone male participant represented Epauto School.

The first day covered learning activities on ‘ My Team and Me, Dynamic Warm Up, Skill Development – Movement, Ball and Shooting’.

Other sessions looked at Healthy Living, Skill Development – Attack, Defence, Cool Down and Reflections.
