The Daily Post says the five year project will address key climate change vulnerabilities and support climate change resilience development with a focus on infrastructure, tourism, fisheries, agriculture and health.

The Green Climate Fund is a fund established within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Constable Natapei says youth in particular need to understand that although technology is great for communication, it does have its dangers.

Vanuatu chiefs want consultation over new Area Councils

The chairman of the Council, Chief Mol Torvaka Lima Tirsupe, say the national council has structures already in place.

But a government official, Ben Tabi, has assured Chief Tirsupe that the Decentralisation Act states clearly the chiefs have an important role to play in the new initiative, including choosing the chairs of each Area Council.

Football’s roots in Erakor

At the end of a rural road in Vanuatu’s Port Vila, a school overlooks the well-used football field, and at one end, behind the goal lies a beach soccer pitch with homemade goals.

It’s here in this picturesque locale where the children and young adults of Erakor Village hone their skills day in and day out.

Benjamin Noel, a teacher in the local school and an OFC Just Play trainer, has been working in the village for ten years managing football development and helping to introduce the OFC Just Play Programme to the local community.

The 18 year-old beat his marker and curled the ball around the keeper to put Nalkutan in front two minutes after the restart.

The Vanuatu international doubled his tally with a stunning free kick ten minutes later, before RIchard Manuriki joined in with a free kick of his own on the hour mark.

Three-way tussle on Group B’s final day

In what shapes as a fascinating final day at Stade Pater, hosts AS Dragon (6 points and a goal difference of +5), Solomon Warriors (3 points, +3) and Vanuatu’s Erakor Golden Star (3 points, +1) could each top the group, qualify as runners-up or miss the playoffs altogether by finishing third.

In the most complex scenario, wins to Erakor and Solomon Warriors would leave all three teams level on six points with the final positions decided on goal difference, goals scored then a countback on head-to-head results if required.
