International players to help Amicale FC

Vanuatu club champions, Amicale FC have welcomed three players and a coach from Italy to boost their preparations for the OFC Champions League competition.

Giorgio Bertacchi (midfielder), Giannario Liburdi (defender), Michele Ganz (striker) and their new coach Mauro Bertoni arrived in Port Vila last week.

Club President, Mr. Andrew Leong said it is very important for the club to start to prepare now before the competition in New Zealand in April.

Mr Leong said more players will be coming in to help Amicale FC.

“Our former players, Colin Marshall from Scotland will be back next month with New Zealand defender Ian Hogg.”

“We have another New Zealand player arriving with Hogg next month too.”

“One of my latest signing is our first Spanish striker who plays for Real Madrid U23 team.” He said.

“We also have four national Solomon Islands players who will join the team and they are Nelson Sale, Freddie Keni, Joses Nawo and James Naka.”

“We want all the players to be here in the first week of February so we can start to prepare to play an international friendly match in Port Vila.”

“I am very excited and looking forward to another successful year of football in Port Vila and in Oceania Region.” he said.

Mr. Leong thanked all the club sponsors and his technical football staff for their contributions to the club.
