Amicale wins Grand Casino Cup 2017

After the break, Amicale were the better team, scoring three more goals from Octav Meltecoin, Jackson Tasso, Solo Iaruel and Vanuatu super star Bong Kalo.

This is Amicale second time to win the Grand Casino Cup.

Two years ago the Reds beat Marconi and last year 2016, Australia club, Apia Tigers won the cup but this year the cup remains back in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

Grand Casino management has confirmed to sponsor the next tournament in 2018.

 

Clubs release players names ahead of Grand Casino Cup

Amicale FC management has confirmed that the three Brazilian players who have sign with Rewa FC in the OFC Champions League will join the Red Roosters list and Bong Kalo, Tafea FC midfielder.

Amicale, Brazilian players ready to play for Rewa

Defender Diego Maximo, midfielder Marcelo and striker Pepeta are expected to fly to Fiji once all their papers are signed.

“I want to wish the three players all the best in the OFC Champions League competition in Tahiti.” said Andrew Leong, Amicale FC President.

“After their duty with Rewa, the three players will come to play for Amicale in Vanuatu.” he said.

Rewa FC is in Pool D with Vanuatu team B in Tahiti.

Vanuatu football champions Amicale FC eye revenue boost

Vanuatu champions Amicale FC have previously criticised the $NZ10,000 entry fee imposed on teams and the decision to play the tournament in one central location, denying club's the chance to play at home and boost revenue.

RNZI reports from next year, a record 16 teams will take part in the group stage, in four groups being contested at four different venues, with the semis and final to be played home and away.

Amicale technical director Anthony Pisano said the chance to play in front of their home supporters is well overdue.

Vanuatu's Amicale FC recruit big for OFC Champions League

Club owner and president Andrew Leong has recruited heavily from overseas, with six Italians, an Argentinian, a Brazilian, a Scot and two New Zealander joining the club's Solomon Island imports and local Vanuatu contingent.

RNZI reports Italian Mauro Bertoni is also a new face in the coaching box.

Diego continues to score for the Reds

Nadaya scored seven goals in six matches for the Reds and said he wants to score more goals.

“I am very happy to be here in Vanuatu to play for a great club,” said Diego Nadaya.

“I am very happy with my performance and want to score more goals for Amicale and I want to help Amicale win competitions in Vanuatu and in Oceania.”

The Argentinian who played his first international match with Amicale FC against Apia Tigers of Australia last weekend was voted the best scorer after he netted two goals in two matches at Port Vila stadium.

“I am a bit upset because we didn’t win the tournament but at the end of the day it is only a friendly to help us prepare for the champions league competition in April.” Said Diego Nadaja.
