“Lucky we live in HI” top hit in the Pacific

The Hawaii hit that secured the ninth spot in October is now the number one hit song in the Pacific beginning November, according to Top 20 Pacifique.

In its place, October’s number one song, ‘Window 8’ by Tyron Mann featuring Nawarake switched spot to take the number nine spot.

“Anthem” by Insideout took the biggest leap from number 19 in October, now sitting comfortably on the second spot, and “Island Moon” by Justin Wellington featuring Jahboy dropped to 16 from the second spot in October.

To Sprigga, this provides a better platform for all artists to deliver the message through the ever evolving phenomenon of music. 

Sprigga is currently in Vanuatu for the music festival Fest ‘Napuan 2016, which started last Wednesday, October 12, and will be ending today, October 16. 

Observing the style of music over the festival period, Sprigga said for a more reggae influenced society, Pacific artists have been embracing diverse styles of music.

Following Vanuatu’s ‘Window 8’ by Tyron Mann featuring Nawarake sitting on number one, ‘Island Moon’ by Justin Wellington featuring Jahboy has successfully secured number two.

Closely behind is ‘Peps Ambe’ by Chronicz featuring El kange on number three and ‘Lewa Aigir’ by Fi-quent crew on number four. ‘Anita’ by Souljah boy of Solomon Island closes the first five hits, according to PT20.

Tevita’s hopes to reach people with his music

Tevita Halahingano Hafoka an emerging artist from Tonga hopes to spread happiness to people with his group Kava Drive.

Tevita’s passion for singing began when he was 5 years and his family started signing him to sing for occasions like birthdays and singing competitions.

“I started singing in Tonga and it was in those performances I began to enjoy singing and found I had a passion for it as well as listening to music”
