Vanuatu children put their wishes in the Sagoa for Pacific Mini Games athletes

Van2017 wants to make sure that people in the villages in Vanuatu are involved in and own the Games in December.

As their journey progress along Island in the Province of Penama, Sagoa and the lovable bird Nasi are capturing children’s hearts, as well as promoting healthy habits and lifestyles, through the inception of the Champions Program in schools.

Having Nasi and the Sagoa in person in front of them has boosted children’s knowledge about the Pacific Mini Games that Vanuatu is ready to host this year.

Sagoa’s visit is a remembrance of sportsmanship in Mele Village

Tafak is now in his late 70’s and remembers being a National player for the New Hebrides.

He was very emotional when he was given the opportunity to be one of the guest alongside with the Chief Poilapa Simeon, and to hold the Sagoa, and be part of history.

Van2017 Sagoa visits Ifira

The Paramount Chief of Ifira, Chief Mantoi Kalsakau and his council welcomed the Sagoa and the Van2017 delegation in his Farea.

The Van2017 committee performed a custom ceremony seeking the Chief’s permission to enter his village, and to gave an overview of the significance of the SAGOA and its journey around Vanuatu.
