The singer started a diploma at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey, in 2009 but gave it up as his musical career took off.

A letter formalising his resulting failure was sent to him a year later.

It is on show at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich, along with other personal objects and memorabilia.

Sheeran's father, John, has curated the Ed Sheeran Made In Suffolk exhibition, which opens on Tuesday.

The one-week exhibition started Monday, 8 April and will end on Saturday, 13 April 2019.

The exhibition is part of the project called ‘Conservation of the Endemic Flying Foxes of Torba and Temotu in Vanuatu and Solomon islands.

The project focuses on three species of threatened flying foxes, Banks flying fox in Vanuatu, Temotu flying fox and Vanikoro flying fox in Solomon Islands.

The VESS has confirmed that part of the project is an expedition to the islands where these species of threatened flying foxes occurred.

'The Cold Islanders: Art on the Pacific Spectrum' has 29 artists on board, exploring a range of mediums, from photography, video and painting.

Curator Leafa Wilson said the idea of 'The Cold Islanders' came from Pacific people migrating and adjusting to the cooler climates of Aotearoa.

Ms Wilson said there are also underlying meanings to the exhibition.

Pacific artists are among 15 artists exhibiting at Women's Work, including Sulieti Fieme'a Burrows, Juliana Browneyes-Clifford, Emily Mafile'o, Karlo Mila, Lisa Taouma and Tui Emma Gillies.

The show is aimed at challenging old and new stereotypes around the work of women considering how it can be challenged, celebrated, hidden or illuminated.

Co-curator Billie Lythberg said it is an opportunity for people to respond to normative responses to the tasks of women.

Exhibition space at this premier trade show will be made available for 11 Pacific Island exporters to showcase their products to a large Australasian and international audience.
