Pacific Exporters speak on state of industry

With conversation driven through both panel-style dialogue and audience-led Q&A, the hybrid event provided exporters the opportunity to partake in wide-ranging and nuanced discussion on matters central to the industry. This included dialogue on operational costs, eCommerce development, labour mobility and market trends, and the importance of Pacific exports within the context of the Australia-Pacific relationship.

Vanuatu to export plastic bottles to Australia for recycling

Vanuatu Environmental Science Society and RecycleCorp hosted an event at the RecycleCorp yard to commemorate the milestone achievement.

 Dr. Christina Shaw, Director of VESS said “this is true bottle to bottle recycling, and it is our first foray into creating a circular economy for plastics”.

Vanuatu Kava can now be exported overseas again

No Kava was able to be exported since the State of Emergency was introduced.

VKIA chairman, Michael Louze said with the extensive damage on kava by Cyclone Harold, it was primordial that export can start again, to ensure damaged kava can also be exported instead of rotting in gardens.

Around 15 tonnes of kava had been stocked in Vila ready for exportation but it was not possible for the stock to be shipped out because the SoE and other COVID-19 restrictions are in place.
