Digicel supports Namatan Short Film Festival

This week long-term Namatan sponsor, Digicel officially handed over sponsorship funding of Vt750,000 to the Australian High Commission to contribute to the organisation of Vanuatu’s premier film festival.

“We truly appreciate Digicel’s generous cash contribution to enable the Namatan Short Film Festival to continue to be enjoyed by the people of Vanuatu, and to provide Vanuatu’s film makers with the opportunity to tell their own stories via film,” said Australian High Commissioner, Jenny Da Rin.

Digicel supports Vanuatu on the occasion of a worldwide ITU event

The event has been organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with the Government of Vanuatu.

GSR is a global event, which will bring together heads of national telecom/ICT regulatory authorities from around the world to share their views and experiences on the most pressing regulatory issues they have identified.

Digicel Vanuatu announces 1,100,000vt sponsorship for Vanuatu Special Olympic Team

Digicel Vanuatu supports Fresh Wota Bilingual School teachers

Fresh Wota School caters for 1700 anglophone and francophone students studying from kindergarten, primary and secondary grades.

The school supports the idea that a student and a teachers learning does not only happen in a classroom environment but outside in real world.

The tour will also give teachers the opportunity to gather valuable experiences, develop partnerships, and encourage sharing of resources that will enable them to pass on guiding principles to our new generation.

Digicel Vanuatu continue to commit and support local music talent and international artists across South Pacific, with DJ’s showcasing the best of their mixing skill & diverse music.

Various music artists like the Sound Tribe Krew, the Havamu, groups of DJs from Vanuatu and upcoming DJ guests were given a chance to rub shoulders and mix tracks with International DJs from Australia, Tahiti, Solomon Islands and for the first time ever, first female DJ in Port VILA, DJ Selena from Sydney Australia performed to a rousing reception.

The launch started off with a road show /parade led by the Vanuatu Mobile Force marching band right through the main town street ending at Sea front.

With a large scale event planned across 5 days, there are prizes for Best Dressed Community and Business house, special prize for Best Dressed group of children plus heaps of things to do for the little ones throughout the week with a special Children's Corner set up with Jumping Castle, numerous races and competitions and an opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa Claus/Papa Noel.

Digicel launches PlayGo App – TV on your Smartphone

The PlayGo app features four fantastic channels in its launch stage with premium viewing content for Digicel customers who can access the app on their smartphones. There will be further announcements in coming weeks on new channel additions both local and international.

Digicel saving lives in Vanuatu

ProMedical’s chest compression machine, Lucas 2, has saved the lives of many cardiac arrest victims. However, it stopped working and Digicel Vanuatu immediately stepped in and offered a sizable donation towards repairing Lucas 2.  

The Digicel Vanuatu staff pushed the contribution even further. To raise additional funds internally and externally, Digicel employees worked together and started two raffles which brought an additional 100,000VT to the ProMedical cause.  

Children's creativity on display in drawing competition

The competition was launched by Digicel Vanuatu and Van2017 on Monday 20th March 2017 which has been warmly welcomed by kids across Vanuatu who have been inspired to draw a creative picture of their favorite Van 2017 mascot, Nasi, the friendly, lovable and social bird.  

In the first draw on Saturday 22nd April, the children and their families were more than happy to share a special moment with Nasi.
