Last month, Air New Zealand, Qantas, and Virgin Australia suspended flights to Port VIla because of fears about the safety of the runway at Bauerfield Airport.

Air Vanuatu continues to operate services.

Italian Mauro Bertoni is hoping to lead his new side to their first title in Oceania's premier international club competition.

"I am very excited and looking forward to my first OFC Champions League with Amicale FC," Bertoni says.

"Life is not the same here in Vanuatu as in Italy but I have to accept it and continue to help the Amicale players."

The MPs are part of a bloc of political groupings, reportedly comprising over two thirds of Vanuatu's 52 MPs, who this week agreed to commit to forming a new coalition government.

They have decamped to Pele, north of Vanuatu's main islands of Efate, where the leader of the Graon Mo Jastis Pati, Ralph Regenvanu said it is easier to control the movement of MPs.

Abel said he intends to increase his current 19 goats to include over 100 female goats to meet the demand.

Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand have both suspended flights amid concerns that the deteriorating state of the landing strip could put their passengers at risk.

But Air Vanuatu says the runway has been assessed by the Airport Consultancy Group, and they found no sign of debris on the surface but recommended daily sweeping operations which began last week should continue.

Airport Consultancy's director Phil Bell says there was nothing especially dangerous about the runway, although there is a need for repairs     

A pact was signed Wednesday in Port Vila by most leading political groups, comprising around 36 MPs elected in last month's snap election.

The group has reportedly committed to forming a government when parliament sits next week, and to introducing political reform in order to stop the chronic parliamentary instability.

However, the leader of the Groan Mo Jastis Pati, Ralph Regenvanu, said one of the biggest parties, the UMP, with its long-time leader Serge Vohor in jail for bribery, has not yet fully committed to the bloc.

Regenvanu's Graon mo Jastis party is one of 11 political groups including 36 MPs, which have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to form a new coalition.

It came after days of closed door negotiations and also features the Vanuaaku Party, led by former Prime Minister Joe Natuman and the party of the jailed former PM, Moana Carcasses Kalosil, the Vanuatu Green Confederation.

Regenvanu says the agreement wasn't hard to reach, but whether the coalition holds together even for the next week before Parliament sits, is another matter entirely

The Vanuatu Police Force (VPF) Media Unit said an investigation is underway but could not disclose further information.

According to the Police Media Unit, two investigators and a forensic officer left Port Vila yesterday for Tanna to investigate.

Joshua Smith and Raff Frisina have been invited to assist head coach Louis Dominique and are already sharing their extensive knowledge of the five-a-side game with their Ni-Vanuatu colleagues.
