Tanna makes remarkable recovery from Pam

Tanna in the country's south was hit directly with winds of up to 200 kilometres an hour and most of its houses, trees and infrastructure was destroyed.

Seasonal workers stuck in Vanuatu

Air New Zealand has suspended its flights to and from Vanuatu’s capital, Port Vila, because of damage to the runway.

It means seasonal workers booked to fly to New Zealand in the next few weeks to pick fruit are grounded until a solution is found.

Fiji Police expert helps Vanuatu

Some airlines to continue to fly into Port Vila

Air New Zealand has stopped flying to Bauerfield because of concerns over the state of the runway although Virgin, Air Vanuatu and Fiji Airways say they will continue to operate.

Solomon Airlines' Gus Kraus says the airline has conducted a review of the runway and concluded conditions were safe for its Airbus A320 to fly in and out..

Virgin Australia to keep flying in to Vanuatu

Its safety experts conducted a full review at the weekend and decided it was safe for their aircraft to operate.

Virgin says it is working closely with local authorities and the Australian Civil Aviation Authority to ensure the condition of the runway remains safe at all times.

International players to help Amicale FC

Giorgio Bertacchi (midfielder), Giannario Liburdi (defender), Michele Ganz (striker) and their new coach Mauro Bertoni arrived in Port Vila last week.

Club President, Mr. Andrew Leong said it is very important for the club to start to prepare now before the competition in New Zealand in April.

Mr Leong said more players will be coming in to help Amicale FC.

New Vanuatu government to face further instability - Natuman

While final results from Friday's snap election are yet to be confirmed, preliminary results suggest there will be a record ten independent MPs in the 52-seat house, and 17 political parties - although eight of these have just one MP.

Joe Natuman, whose Vanua'aku Pati is part of the United Front for Change bloc that hopes to form the government, says no party will be able to form a solid majority on current results.
