Murray to donate in support of Ukraine

The former world number one is working with Unicef to provide medical supplies and development kits.

Russia's attack on Ukraine has so far seen more than two million people flee the country.

The three-time Grand Slam winner, who is an ambassador for Unicef UK, said: "It's vital education continues, so Unicef is working to enable access to learning for displaced children, as well as supporting the rehabilitation of damaged schools, together with replacement equipment and furniture."

New Zealand donates medical supplies to Vila Central Hospital

The supplies and equipment were provided by the New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme (NZMTS) and the ‘Take My Hands’ organization in New Zealand.

The supplies include gowns and scrubs, blankets, Cardiac Monitors, PPE and other equipment requested by VCH.

The New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme (NZMTS) aims to assist Pacific island countries to provide their citizens with access to specialized medical treatment. The NZMTS comprises two components: the Overseas Referral Scheme; and the Visiting Medical Specialists.

Vanuatu’s Nabanga Groups donate to Vanmel communities

This is what the executives and sponsors of Nabanga displayed in the 2020 Nabanga Stringband Competition where a portion of the ticket sales purchased 56 12ft and 14ft roofing iron sheets to house a chapel and an aide post which were completely destroyed by TC Harold, on east and central Pentecost.

The official handing over of the iron sheets took place at Bluescope last December and was attended by the executive committee of Nabanga Groups Vanuatu, Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan, MP Anthony Iauko, and Consule General, Jack Himford.

MSG Secretariat contributes to VBTC radiothon

The fundraising drive is to assist the Vila Central Hospital in purchasing neonatal incubators to meet the growing demand.

Acting Director General of the MSG Secretariat, George Hoa’au, in handing over the cheque to the organisers, said the Secretariat was elated to be contributing to a worthy cause, that is to procure more neonatal intensive care Incubators.

He further highlighted that, generally as an organisation, we have a duty to support meaningful activities that will benefit our communities.

Vanuatu donates to Australia rural fire services

The cheques were handed over by the Finance Minister Gaetene Pikoune.

One cheque is for the Country Fire Association of Victoria and the other is for the New South Wales Rural Fire Service.

High Commissioner Da Rin acknowledged the contribution.

She tweeted deeply moved by the heartfelt concerns, kind words and generosity here in Vanuatu.

“You are more than a friend. You are family,” she said.

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban donate $500,000 to fire services, home 'under threat'

The Australian actress, 52, made a brief appearance at a pre-Golden Globes event in Los Angeles on Saturday (US time), looking visibly upset.

Kidman's representative told Us Magazine that the couple are "keeping a close eye" on their rural property, which is "under threat" from the NSW wildfires. 

The Oscar winner refused red carpet interviews, saying she was "so distracted".

"I'm so sorry. I'm so distracted right now with everything that's happening in Australia," she apologised, according to attendees. 

Butterfly Trust receive Navy Blues donation for Vanuatu children

The partnership between Auckland City FC and the Butterfly Trust raised funds for Cyclone Pam relief in Vanuatu last year and looks set to continue this work in 2017.

This year, Auckland City FC general manager Terry Kennelly presented the Butterfly Trust's Ken Newlands with 60 footballs, 25 warm-up shirts, 40 polo shirts,12 goalkeeper kits, 10 warm-up jackets, three goalkeeper shirts, 12 sets of socks and eight tracksuits for children to use.

"We're delighted to make this commitment to the Butterfly Trust to support their outreach work in Vanuatu.

Vanuatu Red Cross helps Fiji Red Cross

A cheque was presented by Communication, Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator, Dickinson Tevi to the Director General of Fiji Red Cross Filipe Nainoca.

The cheque was a donation from the Vanuatu Red Cross Society to assist Fiji Red Cross with the TC Winston relief efforts.
